Faye Livingstone -Age: 99
San Diego — Faye Livingstone, a long-time resident of the Carlysle Nursing Home, died Monday the 5th of August in her room at Carlysle Nursing Home.
Born in 1911 in Trenton, New Jersey, Faye left her home for the glitz and glamor of the Hollywood hills at the start of the Great Depression and made a name for herself as a top rated Radio Comedienne on the Buck Burns show.
She fell out of the spotlight in 1933, a year after meeting Lord Nathan Essex, a European Viscount, at a party on his Estate in Los Angeles. It was a considered a whirlwind romance and something of a scandal at the time. They were never married and it is unsure when they parted ways, though it was not on poor terms, as Lord Essex's estate has generously taken care of her expenses since coming to stay at the Carlysle Nursing Home in 1962 and the Lord himself has visited every year on her birthday.
Faye was unfortunately wracked with cancer that left her nearly immobile as well as mute an almost unaware of her surroundings. Still, she did enjoy old recordings of 'Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea' as well as Radio Programs from the late 30's through the early 50's.
We at the Carlysle Nursing Home are not aware of any relatives who may have survived her and hope any Friends or Family that she may have out there can make it to her Memorial Services.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 11th at Sunset, on the estate of Lord Nathan Essex in Los Angeles, California. Open Casket viewing will be from 11am-6pm every day until Saturday, at the Shady Oaks Funeral Home in Los Angeles, California.
{Accompanying the article is a picture of a lovely young woman of perhaps 23 years dressed in the high society fashions of 1930's Hollywood smiling like a fool up at a dashing gentleman who was possibly, only a few years older than her – also dressed in the fashion of the era. His face was powdered to a pale white and his lips painted black with a matching diamond on the center of his brow, hair slicked back. He was smiling just as foolishly down at her. Neither seemed to be aware that a picture was being taken. The caption attached reads “Faye and Nathan at a concert in 1933, approximately 7 months after meeting for the first time'.}
