Charlie's own eyebrows lifted when Finley gave him his words right back. At least she'd managed to laugh, that was a start. "Yep, buck up. No real need to do anything other than smile, yeah?" As if to show her, Charlie flashed another grin and held it. "See?" He rolled his eyes a little when she tsk'ed him, laughing quietly. "Can't blame a guy for commenting on the truth. I can keep those thoughts to myself, if you'd feel more comfortable." And he meant it. Charlie was never in the business of making anyone feel out of sorts. He caught her looking though, and that always did make him feel content.
"Yes, that's got me written all over it." He scrunched his face when she called him 'Chuck', though. "Anything besides 'Chuck', if you don't mind. Charlie Townsend, pleased to be meet you." And then the thought finally struck him. Finley. Finley McKnight.Detective Finley McKnight, the woman he'd talked to on the walkie. The woman he'd lied to. He hid that thought immediately into the corner of his mind, lest it show on his face. At the same time that his face sobered of the grin he'd worn, Finley's smile faded, too. He furrowed his brow and tilted his head to the side, slowing their progress until he stopped. "You okay?"
"You and the rest of us, yeah," he laughed. Charlie's brow furrowed deeper as he glanced around. They were out in the front by the lobby but suddenly that wasn't where he wanted to be. It'd be slow goings, but he turned them to the left and started off at a slow pace. Eventually they'd get around back to the serenity garden. He figured it'd be pretty fitting. "Oh? What's up there that's got you trying to escape? You don't have to tell me, just figured I'd ask in case you need to vent." Charlie was good for that sort of thing, always had been. There were certain rewards to it, but for once he wasn't too terribly concerned with that. At least, not until Finley mentioned needing a distraction. His brows shot up and he chuckled outright, even a little bit shyly. "Oh yeah? What sort of distraction do you need? I'll do what I can, provided it doesn't involve risking your safety." He reached up and pointed to the blue uniform, winking roguishly at her. He rather liked her calling him 'Charlie-Boy'.
