Finley turned when she heard the chime of the elevator, and while she acknowledged the man -- Jai, he had been called -- with a slight nod, but her mouth didn't quirk into a polite smile. This wasn't necessarily to be rude; Finley just didn't think this was a time to be smiling and making people's acquaintances. She watched the exchange between the hotel staff and found herself just a little irritated. It was because of everything she had already dealt with today, nothing that they were or were not doing at the moment. She did catch the emphasis the woman used when she mentioned that Finley wanted to check on the plane. She didn't know what that inflection had to do with anything, but she held onto it in case it came in handy in the future. She was a detective, after all.
"Thanks," she nodded her head at the woman when her question was answered. Having the nearest airport and car rental places so far away? This was one hell of an inconveniently placed hotel. Granted, she was singing its praises only moments ago when she had first seen the lights outside. She turned to the security guard. "Jai? I promised the people I was flying with that I'd look for help and that was hours ago. I have no idea how they are now and I need to get back to them to help them on their way." It didn't matter that she had no jurisdiction; Finley just couldn't leave them behind, badge or no badge. "Is there any possible way that we can get in touch with the local police or fire department? If anything, then we should go back to the plane and bring the passengers here so they're safe for the night."
