Jai did indeed answer the call for security, and it just so happened he was close by when his walkie went off. Front desk, eh? He mentally prepared himself for the usual on this sort of call - unruly guest losing their temper at the realization that they couldn't leave. It was fairly common by now, and Jai was always good about it - especially with the front desk staff. He was of the opinion that if it seemed like violence was a possibility, call for help. He had never once gotten short with a front desk worker for calling him and not needing him. Better to be on the safe side.
But when he stepped off the elevator in time to hear the question, "How far are we from the nearest airport? Or car rental place?" He had to wonder what was going on. That didn't sound like a guest struggling with their situation. The woman certainly looked frazzled, though. He stepped smoothly towards the front desk, and nodded to Christine. "Ladies," he greeted. "Christine, you rang?"
