Thomas barely spent enough time in his room to really even consider it his. Sure the décor reflected him and the way his apartment in New York had looked but it wouldn't have made much difference to him if he'd ended up in a generic hotel room that looked like every other hotel room he'd ever been in. He'd never really been one to spend time cooped up anyway and now that he was essentially stuck in one place he had no intention of spending it surrounded by the same four walls all the time so he only used his room when he had to.
He could see that the woman looked a little uneasy and awkward, maybe he had caught her by surprise and that was the reason for it or maybe it was something else entirely. He smiled more in an attempt to put her at easy as he looked her up and down briefly, taking note of the book in her hand. It struck him as slightly odd that someone would be heading out at this time to read a book but what did he know, she could have borrowed it from someone and simply be on her way to return it.
His eyes met hers as she spoke, his smile still firmly in place as he took her hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you, Rosalie. I'm Thomas," he replied as he let her hand slip out of his grip. "Have you only just checked in?" he asked trying to figure out why he hadn't seen her around the hotel before now. Either she was a new arrival or she spent all day hiding in her room and only came out after dark. Thomas didn't know which it was and until he did he'd be careful of his choice of words, if she was new and didn't yet realise that she was trapped here he didn't want to be the one to break it to her and risk having to deal with a woman having a panic attack or any other sort of emotional breakdown.
He looked down the hall towards the direction of the elevators before turning back to look at Rosalie. "Which way you headed?" he asked as he gestured down the hall to encourage her to continue walking so that he could fall into step beside her. It didn't matter to him if she wanted his company or not she was getting it until she told him to clear off or she got where she was going and even if either of those things happened there was no guarantee he'd actually leave.
