Aiden liked to think he was pretty observant but he didn't always pick up on the fact that Cora was awkward around him and if he did he never managed to figure out the reason why. If he had then he wouldn't have known what to do with that information. He'd never had a successful relationship in his life, he'd always been too wrapped up in his career to think about anything else and now, like Cora he was focused on helping the people that found themselves at the hotel.
He'd never dream of asking anyone to explain why they did the things they did. As long as it wasn't hurting others then it wasn't any of his business. He had no idea the toll Cora's duties took on her but if he did then he'd want to be there for her for support because that's what people did for their friends. He'd never dream of trying to make anyone feel shame for what they did, it wasn't his place.
He watched as she shrugged a shoulder. He couldn't understand where she was coming from because he'd never been a guest of the hotel so he had no idea what it was like to feel trapped here, he chose to be here and had accepted that as part of the job when he'd taken it. Aiden reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to offer comfort. "You're not going to be stuck here forever. You're doing a lot of good here and anyone that makes you think differently doesn't know what they're talking about. I think anyone that chooses to be here for the money and not to help people is here for the wrong reasons. You're here for the right reasons and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise."
