Cora looked up, startled, her eyes red-rimmed as she turned. Of course, of course it would be him. Of course Aiden would be here. She wasn't made up, wasn't dressed in anything other than some dress she'd grabbed out of the closet. Her hair was a mess. But she wasn't supposed to care, was she? She didn't need to care. Didn't want to care.
But she did.
She brushed her hands down her skirt and then tried to compose herself, but it was failing. Her head tilted down and she wondered what to answer. Taking a walk seemed like such a lie. She wasn't.
"I never thought I'd be afraid of it ever again." She admitted, honest. "But sometimes...sometimes it just gets to me. Did you know..." Her voice faltered, quiet. "Did you know that I was a guest here once?"
