Jai started slightly at the sound of Hayes' voice, turning in his chair and sitting up a little straighter. When Jai got rightfully put in his place, he wasn't the sort of man to get shitty or start spouting excuses. He simply nodded grimly. "Understood, Sir. My apologies. Just blowing off a little steam, but... you're right, not really the time for it." He sighed and briefly raised his cup. "Cheers, Boss."
What a great start he was off to today. Hayes had a point, if you looked at it objectively, he had been wasting time when someone should have been hurrying off to help her. But it was just so constant, and the way she brought it on herself time after time and never learned a damn thing... maddening as hell. "You ever get that feeling, though?" he asked, sighing and running a hand through his hair. "Like her problems could be less easily solved by us than they could by, say, the head doc?" Valid question, he thought.
