another day in paradise Who: Ashling and Open! When: Midday Where: Poolside
Ashling had been here a few months, and she didn't complain about that. She knew she couldn't leave, and she didn't complain about that. Every Sunday she watched her father on the TV and at least once during the sermon he would ask for anyone with information about his daughter's disappearance to step forward and contact the authorities, and every week her heart broke a little more for her family, but she didn't complain about that, either. She took it in stride. She did her best to accept what she could not control and deal with it. But her wardrobe was starting to get on her nerves.
The problem was that she and her sister had been on their way to Hawaii, and Ashling had packed appropriately. Now a few months later, she was still having to dress every day like a bum on vacation. It might have been appropriate to her current climate, but it still felt strange to the born and bred Michigan girl. She sighed as she sat down in one of the poolside loungers. It was supposed to be a vacation, she thought. Well, she certainly got that one. She still held out hope that it wouldn't be permanent. So you better start relaxing. What a foreign concept. She pulled the bottle of nail polish out of her pocket and started to shake it. Relax. Sure. She could do this.
