"Much as you play it, I doubt you'd ever truly get rusty, man." Charlie definitely liked it when Jai played the guitar.
Charlie nodded, the concerned look still on his face as he listened. "Yeah, I guess not." Really, the whole situation had been pretty fucked up. Charlie didn't like lying to people, but he was surprised by how easy it had been to get into the habit of doing that. As a former police officer, he should have felt worse, he thought. Maybe this place is changing me already. He just listened, nodding his head a little bit when Jai told him what happened. Shaking his head, Charlie smirked lightly. "Naw, see. You did right by letting Christian know. If I were you, I'd have confronted her, too. She took a great big shit on you, it's not like you verbally attacked her, right?" Narrowing his eyes, Charlie frowned lightly, thinking about Christine. "I've only known her a few months longer than you, but even I can say that you're probably right. She's a drama queen, a gossip and an attention whore, so of course she'd try to make you feel bad."
Shaking his head again, Charlie offered Jai a smile. "Nothing you can do about it now, but if it helps, I don't think you reacted badly." Still, it was a small hotel, for all intents and purposes. "What're you going to do about it now? Try to avoid her?"
