Off the Island

Yes, it's another freaking modpost! (recycled to help minimize spammage! See? We care!)

We want to welcome Sky, endless_sky, to the game, D's OC and second character. He has been on the island 10 years and can be found in Green Block! We had a player removed due to lack of activity today, please head over to the Contacts Page to update your lists when you have a moment. We hope to be bringing you some new characters very very soon, so hang in there! Also, don't forget to look over the plot thread and post any lines you want for your character.

Between dealing with family from out of town (for me) and work (for Sara), we're behind on Natalya/Ava's SL. I just wanted to apologize in advance for the serious backdating that is about to happen.   :|

We have one more "old" scene to do (taking place this Friday that just passed) and we might each do a narrative covering last week but after that we shouldn't be too far off "real-time".

This would be one of them. A.K.A: Sudden disappearance and rumors of my death and then my sudden return. :P Regardless, I just wanted to let you guys know that I wasn't dead and that my computer had died recently. And my mother hid the other computer terrified I'd somehow break it. Nice that I have SUCH a reputation. I deeply apologize to those I jumped into a thread with. To make it up, I'm going to start a thread or two and hope that I can role-play with you guys again. I'll be starting up a few soon.

I missed my dear Itzal and his evilness. And if anyone wants, let me know if you want to have a match up or something. You guys should have my AIM, I hope >.>. I'll be on more often since I have my baby back. :3

Mod!Xi has put together an exciting and LARGE tournament this month! We have done our best to accommodate everyone's desires, however a few people went out a bit sooner than requested. With 11 characters involved, we couldn't entirely avoid this. We appreciate your understanding and enthusiasm! Player vs player threads should be threaded out, NPC matches can be written out or summarized at the beginning of another fight. If you need ideas, prompts or general questions about the tournament, feel free to ask the mods, or check out the !tournament tag to see past fights. We cannot wait to see this month's fights!

Hello, mutant lovers!
We have a new face on the island, Devon is bringing in her second character, Surge! She can be found in Blue Block or at her journal, static_surge and thanks to detoxing, is sure to not be in a greatest of moods. Send her some love anyway and be sure to update your Contacts Lists!

Ok, Islanders! Several points to run down. First off, we've lost another player, so send love her way and update your Contacts List. If you have not yet, be sure to sign up for the tournament HERE if you want to be involved. Also, via this announcement, there will be a new movie in Revolve's theater. This can spawn some fun get-together scenes, from dates, to waiting in line together, to discussing the movie afterwards. Just a fun excuse to get several characters in the same place for interaction!

But, most importantly!!

This thread is going to be used for pottage between players! Throw up anything you need or want or could conceive of, regardless of how epic or silly or random it is. Anything from "I need someone to sit up and eat ice cream with" to "I want an epic fight with a grudge ending" to a partner in an escape attempt. Toss out ideas and reply to the ideas of others. Ready? Set? Go go go!

As you saw, we have sadly lost our Scarlet Witch. She is an awesome player and will be missed and we so appreciate her being honest and upfront about her issues and concerns. Send love her way, you can always find her lurking around the Scarlet Witch page on comicvine.com! ;p

Also, Jenn has stepped out of the game along with her OC. We will be scripting him out shortly with the upcoming event. Thanks again to all who give us notice if they cannot remain in play.

Hello, lovelies~!

For those of you who missed the announcement in the chat last night, we wanted to recap the information and give you all time to prepare for it. Our lovely mod Xi is going to be phasing herself out of the game, as at the end of July she may well have to leave the game as she is moving--to China! This is a very big and exciting event for her, even if we will miss her terribly. Before anyone starts to panic, we want to assure that the game is not closing, we will be continuing on and David will be looking for a co-mod eventually.

That said, the plot we are cooking up to work her out should be very exciting! It will take place in a few weeks and will result in the destruction of at least one block, at least one death and could result in escapes and all around in-character drama fun~! More details will be revealed as we near the date, so stay tuned!

Also, July Touranment!!
If you want to be involved in the July Tournament, please comment here, and adding in how far you would like to see your mutant get would be glorious. Commenting before Friday (the 26th) would be ideal if possible. ( More info on Tournaments )

I have some kind of spyware/mallware BS on my laptop that I can't get rid of. It blue screened me and at this point is blocking everything I could possibly use to get rid of it. Obviously I have another computer, but that's where most of my data is so I'm understandably stressed about the potential loss of.. everything.

Hopefully it'll get fixed tonight, but I know for certain it won't be fixed in time for the group chat. I'll keep you guys updated if it looks like I'm going to be offline/out of play for an extended period.

ETA: It looks like I've fixed the problem. I didn't even have to reformat, yay!

Ok, mutant lovers, big mod post is big, so settle in!

First off, there are going to be some emails issued to inboxes for a few of you. We are handing out seven activity notices for this activity period, and that number is rather high. Your mods are not exactly happy about that. We do and will enforce this rule if necessary, but please do not make us. We have several new faces in the comm and have noticed some extra energy coming in with them so we are very happy about that and have no doubts that the next activity period will be much more successful!

Secondly, we want to announce a "move it or lose it" policy on threads. ( About this policy )

The next order of business, ( we need your feedback on! )

Lastly, we would like to remind everyone that not all scenes have to be threaded out. Playing via email, Google docs, IM threads and log posts is more than acceptable. Write whichever way works best for you and your scening partner at that time. Be aware that not every thread has to be posted. If you do a fun/quick/silly hang-out scene to get a feel for interaction, a log of it does not have to be posted. Please do share scenes which are major to character development with the community so that others can keep up with developments. Remember to do enough 'major' scenes to keep your activity level up. This community does run "storybook" style, so please avoid posting any "asterisk" style threads in the community. Do feel free to run scenes anywhere and in whatever style helps you stay connected to your character. We will accept any and all items, but the more plot heavy and important they are for your character's development, the more interesting they are to read.

Hey everyone! Hy and I are going to start a thread that's meant to be a sortof demo for Natalya (Hy's character), as she's interested in purchasing a mutant. I don't know all the characters here yet, and I'm wondering if we have any combat oriented mutants (or mutants with powers that would be useful in combat) who have been here for less than a month that would like to join in? I know that it may be a narrow scope but she'd be looking at Blue Blockers who can fight, and are very new to the island. If this fits you or one of your characters it'd be a great way for that character to meet Ava (as they'll be on display together).

Hello everyone, my name is Hy and my character is Natalya, a human fight promoter. She's been involved with combat sports in that capacity for nearly a decade now, it's what she's passionate about. If she could be anyone anywhere, she would have been a wealthy lanista in Ancient Rome, a manager of gladiators. Revolve might just be her dream come true, hah. She's withholding judgment until she's seen it for herself. Her plan is to buy a promising mutant at a low price (IE one of Fischer's newest acquisitions, someone who has the kind of powers that will keep them alive) and turn it into a top fighter. That's how she'll end up buying Ava, which I think is totally hilarious. It'll be a rocky road for both of them, I'm sure.

I'm Crys, I'm fresh meat err I mean, new around here. I thought it might be nice to introduce myself and all of that. About me? Well, I've been RPing for a while, I only bite when asked nicely, and I can be reached via gmail at Glamourbound or via AIM at Kaimelarelle so feel free to give me a poke on either ♥♥♥

This is Megan Gwynn, perhaps better known as Pixie. She is set pre-souldagger/pre-teleportation magic, so she can't do any of that stuff but that makes her a little more fun to play, I think. She's only recently discovered her mutations, lost her father, and was sent away by her mother, so though she's a painfully optimistic and bubbly girl she is dealing with a few issues at the moment, but hey, who isn't right? She wants to be your friend!! All of you!! Mutants, humans, guards, owners, everything, she'll make friends with anyone who holds still long enough, or at least try.

Also, I'm not toooo bad with photoshop, soo if anyone needs a hand with altering character pictures feel free to let me poke at it.

Hey everyone! Just saying hello and salutations and all that! I don't have a role set for Ava here - she's a blank slate, and I'm just going to roll with the punches (figuratively and literally, I'm sure.)

For those of you who are looking for someone to fill a specific role in their character's lives, Ava mind end up being a fit, only trial and error will tell!

I look forward to playing with you all and I'll throw a post up some time tonight (something other than my narrative). Oh, my friend Hy should have her app in soon, and she plans to be Ava's owner if that sheds any light on possible connections or topics of conversation we might share!

Hello everyone! Time to introduce our newest set of victims players!
Put your hands together for Deana who's bringing in Polaris (green_dream). She's going to be placed in Yellow Block and seems like a girl to fight with for now. Also send some love to Sara who will be playing an original, Ava King (avaking), who is of yet does not have a code name, who is found in Blue Block. Feel free to leave them both some love on their first OOC posts, and plotting is always peachy keen. Be sure you update your friends adder so that you have them on your lists, and all contact information is placed, as usual.

This is a reminder that Friday will be our bi-weekly activity check. We did a quick rundown last night and we currently have a shocking number of characters who are not going to be passing. We know many of you just finished up your Vacation scenes, but keep in mind those happened during the last activity check! If you are unsure if you are in the clear, head to http://asylums.insanejournal.com/athinblackline/ and scroll down to find your characters tag, then click it. If you are not involved in a thread between now and June 6th, you are not passing the check. If you know you have been involved in a thread between now and then but you don't see it, make sure you're using your tags. ;p

Also, since we have had questions lately, this game is VERY OTA friendly. Revolve may be a prison but there are lots of places for characters to randomly meet up. Some possible ideas to help spark your creativity: The movie theater, which always shows older movies, Coffee Shop for coffee and chat with a friend, the library which as both books and (ancient) computers, an unused arena, goof around in the sand pit when no one's fighting, the beach, set up in the tropical sun outside near a building or just blast music in your cell a little too loud and see who shows up.

I'm ALIIIIIIIIIVE.

Okay so add in 16 staples, a bottle of Oxycontin, a bottle of Percocets and a drugged up gal on the Internet and you have me. But I am BACK. I just wanted to let everyone know that, and that the surgery was a complete success despite having only a 60% success rate (take THAT, odds) and my knee is FINALLY bending again. Had some super ugly scar tissue to blast through, and two tendons to realign. My hospital is poorer than Vietnam so I woke up on a stretcher in recovery and then got moved to the Abdominal Surgery ward. That was fun. They let me administer my own morphine. I'll tell ya, morphine makes even Star Trek Voyager the best thing EVAR. (Even when everyone knows its the worst) As for RPing, I fall asleep at weird hours (blame the pills) and will nod off with the laptop on my lap, so I want to let you all know I'm not ignoring you. Love me some lines, and I filled out a meme for Wade so if you want a laugh!

Thanks again for all the well-wishes guys, it really helped me out. Glad to be back!
