Jack's words just bring wide eyes and more laughter from the children. You'd think he was the second coming of saint Nick the way they cling to him. None of them can stop touching all the ink on his body and though they try to get to the things dangling in his hair, it's out of their reach. Jack is too tall. After a couple minutes of them stopping any progress of Jack getting more then two steps out of the hut a bend over old woman with white hair comes hobbling through them, not a lot taller then most of the kids. She waves a twisted stick about and threatens them, making her way to Jack. After she finally arrives in front of him she squints at his face and tattoos making it obvious she chased the children away so she could get a better look not so Jack could be free of them.
With a toothless grin that takes up her entire face she pats his arm, takes him by the hand and makes a path with her stick between the kids. She's terrible fast for something that looks as if it would snap in half in a slight breeze. The people that were laughing at Jack are now laughing at the two of them together. She takes him deep into the groupings of huts as the entire tribe follow behind to watch the show. Finally Jack is taken to a large tepee where he's sat outside of it on the ground. She motions for him to stay put and then shakes her stick at the others for good measure before going into the tepee.
Soon two or three woman come out following the old woman with trays of food. Everything is laid out in front of him as the woman holds her fingers to her mouth making the universal mothering sign for 'Eat. Too skinny. Must eat.' Then she totters off to chase her tribe out of her front yard. Small groups disperse only to go around the tepee and come back to the same spot to watch Jack.
