Simon berated himself for behaving so recklessly. He was usually so by-the-book and focused, but somehow Kyle's presence had made him careless for a few seconds. He knew it was stupid. A few seconds was all it took for someone to get hurt or dead. He rolled onto his back and watched Gibs slash away at the remaining Sentinels until the fight was over. Wincing with pain, he gave Gibs a half-hearted smile. "No problem," he said, his voice a little tight with discomfort.
He let out a small groan and lay flat on his back to catch his breath. He tried to move his leg and couldn't right away, but he didn't think it was anything serious. He'd gotten zapped, twice. Once on that leg. It was just twitchy, jumpy and achy and would likely not hold him up if he tried to stand. Other than that, he was virtually unscathed. "None of those bastards had ever zapped me while phased," he grumbled, pouting at the ceiling.
