"Hm," Haemat hummed appreciatively, mulling over the doctor's words. "She just might, at that. I do not envy her her position." It was good to let such things slide as might serve her, should they reach the right ears. Even if Milbury did not look like the tattling type, she had no doubt that any of the nursing or the security personnel could be listening in at any time. She doubted anything went down in these facilities without a record of some kind.
Lou pursed her lips in an amused smile. She sounded positively mirthful when she replied, "Quite some time, you say? Why, doctor, you make it sound like you've been around for centuries." She laughed softly, then raised inquisitive eyes towards him. "Have you?" she asked cheekily.
"I'm twenty-five myself, and not above wondering whether there is such a thing as eternal life. With all the mutations out there, I'm quite sure there must be someone out there who is destined to outlast us all." The tone of her voice said that she wouldn't mind if that mutant was herself.
She shrugged, as if it was unimportant, but this was indeed a subject that intrigued her greatly. Not only would she love to live forever, but she was vain enough to actively be searching for ways to keep herself looking young as long as she possibly could. She was well aware that beauty and youth could open doors that even pedigree and power could not touch.
