"Oh, right. They're on their best behaviour while she's around," she agreed. The stress on 'she' did not make it clear whether she approved or disapproved of her boss. It was fairly noncommittal, really. She had nothing else to say on the matter. She would crush whomever needed to be crushed in order to get herself where she wanted to be. She didn't hate Ororo by any means. She resented her like she would resent anybody at all giving her orders. Lou did not want the woman's job. It was too much responsibility. She merely wanted to be in a high enough position to lord it over most everyone else while not so high that she might be called to make the hard decisions.
Lou merely nodded in assent. The nurse. Well, it might be worth bearing with the nurse just to get someone she could be thoroughly unpleasant to.
"How do you know Lord Carlson?" Louella asked, very much intrigued. She actually turned her head to look the doctor straight in the eye. "That would be my father, to answer your question." At least the current Lord Carlson was, but she wasn't going to be as rude as to imply Milbury was probably talking about her grandfather, or even great-grandfather.
