How Jamie had died was not exactly a mystery to Dr. Milbury. He had died of a heart attack brought on by his mutation. The good doctor knew this for what it was...an overreaction to something that no one could have either predicted or stopped. However, just because he knew that didn't keep him from using the situation to his advantage. After all, why give up a perfectly good and legitimate opportunity to collect information and samples on everyone in the Special Operations unit including Storm herself? It was a rather neat little coincidence. "I should think it would. She does worry horribly over those under her command. Such a lovely lady."
There was no reason for him not to compliment the dear woman on the council with him. She was a paragon of virtue. Something he would happily tarnish, but he refused to draw any attention to himself for something that was little more than a vain interest.
"Unfortunately, young man," Milbury moved the stethoscope and continued to listen. "I haven't the foggiest where you got that idea from." Then he moved away to take a note or two of his findings. Things were as he had expected they would be. "Though I will make a note of it in your records, in case it should come up again with someone else. It may be a symptom of some kind of underlying problem."
Going to the door, he opened it and whistled for Isabel. "Do bring me a blood work kit, please." He had obviously forgotten to bring it in with him.
