The other man's vaguely feral behavior had an odd effect on Simon. The fangs and claws put his survival instincts on alert, for sure. But, at the same time, it was no different from seeing the huge cats at the zoo. Lions, tigers, panthers. Simon loved them all. He wanted to cuddle them. Perhaps it would seem insane to most, but he found them beautiful. So it was with Kyle. Maybe he was a predator at heart, but Simon still smirked a little and shook that hairy paw, incredibly curious to know how it might feel to pet his fur.
Not that he would ever do such a thing. He liked his throat just the way it was, unslashed.
"Good to finally meet you," Simon answered, remembering his manners. "You come around here a lot?" he asked without thinking. Simon usually avoided small talk with co-workers. It was safer that way, not to mention the polite thing to do. Not to pry. Not to make waves. He was still shaking Kyle's hand, he realized, and so he quickly let go.
