"Do we?" Storm did not confirm or deny what Selene brought up. Those who knew her history knew that portion of it. It wasn't exactly a secret, but it wasn't specifically something she wanted to talk to Selene about. Or anyone else for that matter. Once, a long time ago and world's away, she had discussed it among those whom she had called her friends. They could not understand it nor did she really think that Selene would, regardless of whatever feelings of grandeur she felt she had.
The other woman's control of those around her was impeccable. Storm did not begrudge Selene that respect. One mutant to another, she could respect the abilities the woman had. However, that did not mean she saw them as somehow kindred. Bosom sister who would share confidences and secrets.
Storm didn't have that kind of relationship with anyone at the moment. It was a loss she felt keenly at times, but normally work kept her far too busy to be worried about it very much. She picked up her cup and held it between her hands, perhaps waiting for Selene's next words, perhaps simply waiting for the other woman to go away. It didn't make much difference, her solitude had long since been broken.
