"Kyle," she sounded more like an annoyed mother than a Special Operations leader. In Kyle's case, since this was a non-work situation, she had every right to sound that way. He had just about tried to get himself killed with his antics. Didn't he know better yet than to surprise someone who could fry his nervous system short term without even trying. Then again, it was quite likely he hadn't thought about any such thing...typical Wild Child behavior. "You shouldn't be jumping down on people like that."
The worry over whether or not he was truly injured passed through her head, but it didn't stay long. He was moving and despite the smell of burning, appeared to be quite all right. Just the same, she asked the inevitable question:
"Are you all right?"
A breeze picked up at her command, trying to disperse the smell somewhat. Between the ozone and the burnt plastic, things were pretty bad right in their general vicinity.
