Draco looked down at a scrap of parchment he pulled out of his pocket. It wasn't easy to find and he checked the name on the since against the parchment several times, Moreau's Wand Shop. He pushed the door open to find an amber-lit room much larger than Ollivanders shop but still as dusty. "Don't these wandmakers ever clean?" He muttered looking around the corners for the proprietor.
"Levicorpus!"
Suddenly Draco was lifted into the air flailing to see who had just caught him, "Put me down!"
"Tell me who you are first," a quiet but determined voice said holding a wand in her hand.
"Draco Malfoy," he heaved still flailing in hopes of glimpsing his attacker, recognizing her voice as a woman's."
"Oh," she said boorishly, "I wasn't expecting you just yet," she flourished her wand as Draco landed back on the floor.
Draco's grey eyes followed her across the room as she stood behind the counter. Her eyes were narrow as if even now she was debating whether letting Draco down was a mistake, "You, weren't expecting me?" Draco felt insulted by her blasé response, "I'm looking for Vivienne Moreau." He watched her mouth curl into a smirk.
"You're looking at her, kid." Vivienne bowed keeping her eyes on him the whole time, "At your service."
He had heard that Belgium's wandmaker was young but he didn't realize by how much. He still pictured someone at Ollivander's age, "My apologies," Draco returned a bow. I'm here to acquire a wand.
"Of course you did, sweetheart," she laid the age different on thick seeing Draco struggle to keep the anger burning just under his countenance. "So how did you lose your last wand?" She asked as her hand began gliding over the numerous boxes, all bearing a stylized "M" on their front.
"First tell me how you know so much about wand lore and craft," Draco demanded still not sure he wasn't being taken for a fool.
"Vivienne sized Draco up. A well-worn coat hiding pristine designers clothes, "I'm a pureblood if that's what you mean. Father and mother both magical and I graduated from Beauxbaton in '81 been working with my father up until last year. The shop's mine now." She took a breath before pulling a box off the shelf and turned towards him, "Does that answer my pedigree for you? Now how did you lose your wand?" She expertly unwrapped a wand that looked uncannily like the one he had lost.
"I lost it in a duel," Draco admitted staring at the wand.
"I'm sorry," Vivienne said packing the wand back in its box, "obviously this won't do then." She returned to the shelves. Her hand passed over the boxes as she kept a close eye on Draco who was wandering around to the other side of the shop. Her eye was drawn to a box on the bottom side of the far shelf, she saw blue sparks.
"Draco," she spoke up, "take two more steps to your left."
Wandmakers, Draco thought as he acquiesced her request. He jumped just as he saw the blue sparks fly out of a box on the bottom shelve almost hitting his pant leg.
Vivienne walked over and picked the box up and blew the dust off away from Draco, "Go stand by the counter."
He walked over and Vivienne madly unwrapped a knarled but elegant looking wand with a rather thin handle. Draco placed his hand around the handle as the tip erupted with blue sparks that danced around the shop and circled Draco.
"It's been a long time since I have sold a Vine Wand, even longer since I sold one with a Dragon Heartstring Core."
"My last wand was Dragon Heartstring, but you already knew that when you pulled the first wand." He felt the weight of the wand in his hand. It was lighter than his first but he felt complete again.
"How much do I owe you?"
"I believe the great Ollivander sells his for seven galleons, correct? Then it's seven galleons."
Draco handed her the money and left the shop.
