The spiral staircase leading to the Headmaster's office lifted Neville to the small corridor before the office. If you ever need anything of me or the school then please come see me. He remembered McGonagall's words but he still believed that this wasn't exactly what she meant.
"Headmistress," Neville asked quietly as he opened the door. He had never really seen the inside of the Headmaster's office and it seemed massive considering the small corridor leading up to it. Minvera sat in the tall wooden chair behind a mahogany desk.
"Yes, Neville." Minvera said looking up over top her spectacles, "What can I do for you?"
Neville took a deep breath as he approached her desk, "I've just been to meet with Adrian Pucey and he is having some issue acquiring some of the rarer ingredients needs for the potion. Would it be possible for you to grant him access to Hogwarts's Potion Stores?"
"I see." Minerva pushed her spectacles back up against her face and walked to the fire before throwing a handful of powder into the flames.
"Horace, can I have you in my office immediately? Nothing is the matter, just come here!"
A moment later professor Slughorn trudged into the room, his eyes shifting from side to side, "Ah Longbottle! How have you been my boy?"
"Horace!" Minerva cut him off, "I've made you aware of Nevile's circumstances. It seems we are in need of your private stores."
"Yes, tricky potion it is," Horace muttered indignantly, "I would've been happy to prepare the potion myself."
"Yes, I know Horace," Minvera disregarded his comment, "You remember Adrian Pucey, correct? He will be visiting the castle to have a look at the ingredients as he was Neville's choice to handle the tricky potion. Please make sure they are neat for when he arrives.
"Of course, headmistress," Slughorn replied, retracting a bit, "I'll get right on it." He bowed before walking out the door.
"Well, that's that." McGonagall chimed looking quite pleased with herself, "I believe you have an owl to send. And if I do think so, the final preparation can begin."
"Thank you, Professor," Neville said before heading down to the owlery.
