On a flight from London to Atlanta, it suddenly feels as though the bottom has dropped out of the world. One hard jolt and gravity ceases to exist for only a matter of seconds, and yet it feels like a lifetime in your mind. People are falling, personal belongings flying everywhere, and suddenly the light is far too bright on your eyes. Has the plane split? The wind is so intense. You barely have the time to put your oxygen mask on, but all the time in the world to know exactly what’s happening. All the time in the world to know real fear.
You and many others survive the crash. You find yourselves on an island. You tend to your wounded, sort out supplies for the night, and wait for rescue.
What happens when rescue doesn’t come?
Perhaps on the second day you start to worry, but you’d still try to maintain optimism. On the third, rationing won’t be just a thought - it’s a dire necessity. There’s good news to be had, however. As you and the other survivors start to scout the island, you find resources. Food and fresh water are plentiful, but you also find signs that perhaps this island isn’t so deserted after all. At the waterfall that becomes your main source of water, someone had previously etched four words into a large tree. It reads,
“Welcome to the forge.” What could that mean?
The longer you and the other survivors stay on the island, the stranger things become. An illness rips through the camp, and upon waking from your fever dreams you will find yourself changed. It’s as though a new sense has awakened in your brain. Using it will be difficult at first, and yet also instinctive. Suddenly you’re moving objects with your mind. The person that had been seated next to you on the plane can hear people's thoughts. One of the surviving flight attendants begins levitating.
What is this place? Why has no one come to rescue you? There are many secrets to unravel on the island, and many ways in which it might change you.
Welcome to the forge. Let’s see what you’re made of.
