Living in Oakdale, Connecticut has never been the worst of times or the best of times. You’ve always suspected that it was like any other mid size town in America. You’ve got your main street, the neighbors who commute to the city for work, and gossipy old men and woman judging your every move. You don’t expect the town to be rocked with a one-two punch.
First, the mayor passes which is sad because he’s got a house full of kids without a father and a mother without her husband. But it also brings out the sharks of the community, there were always plenty of people waiting to get their hands on that position. To add salt to a wounded community that was already in mourning, the laboratory - the only thing that outsiders ever knew about Oakdale - laid off a bunch of staff members only to be replaced by foreigners who seem to just pour into the town over night. Tensions are high and you’re sitting on the edge of your seat, hoping that nothing bad will happen.
Things had been so much simpler when you were a kid, hadn’t they?
