Rabastan did not have time to himself since the break out the month before. He spent the entire time playing catch up from the past 15 years, not to mention time on his knees in front of the Dark Lord.
"Fuck me," he said as he read a note from Bellatrix, demanding he come over. The owl looked at him as though offended in Bellatrix's place. "That woman never let's me alone for five fucking minutes."
He was glad to be out of Azkaban, but he could not stand the sight of anyone. As isolated as he had been for fifteen years, he did not miss being at the beck and call of his sister-in-law. He also knew that Rodolphus was not at home, so Rabastan had his suspicions. Most likely, he assumed, Bellatrix wanted somebody to play with--and by play, she meant find innocent muggles to torture, bind and gag them, and watch them writhe.
Somehow, Rabastan was not in the mood. Normally he would do anything his brother or sister-in-law asked of him, but for once, he felt as though he would tell Bellatrix 'no.' He did not want revenge on the innocent. He felt vindictive towards the Ministry, the Order, and wanted to get to them. If anyone stood in his way, it was fair game.
Rabastan let himself in, nearly tripping over the house elf. He slung his jacket over the banister of the stairs. "Why am I here, Bellatrix?" he said loudly. He had no idea where she was.
