Who: Hannah Abbott and OPEN When: September 4, 1996 - Just after breakfast Where: The halls What: PG Why: Hannah has a free period Status: Open and Incomplete
Hannah stared down at her schedule as she briefly sucked a bit of syrup from her index finger. She just needed to make sure she had read it correctly the first four times she had double checked the free spot next to first period. Sixth years, it seemed, had a lot of free time. Well, sort of. She knew that once the homework started to really pour in, most of her free time would be spent reading and writing essays. But for now that free period was actually there to fill with whatever she wanted to do. It was certainly a nice change of pace from the year before.
The problem now though was figuring out what to do with it. She had already owled her parents. And while they had promptly returned that message, she didn't want to worry them by writing too often. They might think something was wrong and justify it with their original plan to keep her home from Hogwarts. And, despite her worries at leaving her family behind, that was something she certainly didn’t want. She supposed she could get a head start on her homework, some of which she had already completed the night before. But it was early, and while she was wide awake and cheery, Hannah knew that doing homework right then would very likely put her in a funk for the rest of the day. That would not be good.
Sighing, Hannah pocketed her schedule and exited the Great Hall. Her hands skimmed the stone wall as she leisurely walked the familiar path back to the Hufflepuff common room. She really wasn’t in a hurry after all.
