Well, she still didn't understand why Lei had said 'you ain't shy on ham' but it didn't seem to matter any more, Lei was signing her name again. Next she signed the pronunciation. Marisel was relatively pleased as Lei signed that her name was pronounced 'lay.' That's just what she'd thought! Feeling rather proud of herself, Marisel nodded to show she understood.
So, after about three or four minutes they'd learned one another's names? Marisel couldn't help but laugh, that was rather productive. She waved briefly to say 'hi' because signing h-i seemed silly. God, why hadn't she paid more attention in school?
She was tempted to continue the conversation and ask her things but it seemed ridiculous to spell out each word. Lei would most likely get annoyed or bored long before Marisel even finished a sentence. "Are you okay?" she thought she'd ask, remembering she had tripped the woman afterall.
