Lei caught the way the 'vampire's' lips moved as the letters of her name were signed--unaware, of course, that she hadn't actually said them aloud. There was a somewhat awkward pause as a tipsy Deaf woman flicked her gaze between her 'conversation' partner's eyes and lips...waiting for some kind of confirmation of understanding. Her eyebrows lifted high: an expression of expectation and questioning, as if to say 'get it?'. Marisel looked lost... hence, so did Lei.
Yes... This conversation was going well.
Luckily for them both, the smaller half of the pair had been through this before. She held one finger up, hopefully indicating that she had a plan.. then signed. L.E.I. Pause for recognition, as well as one more emphatic point to herself-- this time with one thumb hooked out from her fist and pointed deep into her own chest. Then she tugged on the lobe of her own right ear, and 'spoke' as well as signed (she couldn't use her voice without signing anymore--it just didn't work).
"Sounds like"... One more shorter pause, then the letters gestured in front of her with a careful precision (touched a little by tipsiness) L.A.Y.
