Marisel raised an eyebrow when the woman asked her. "Me?" she pointed at herself before shaking her head and pointing to Lei. "You said that, right?" Her brow furrowed again, not completely sure she knew what was going on at this point. That must be some intense champagne...
She mouthed the letters as the woman in front of her signed. 'L' then 'E' and finally 'I.' Marisel was thankful the word was short or she might've forgotten the first letters. Wait, L-E-I? Oh, that was her name! Marisel recalled Lei motioning to herself prior to signing. "Lei," Marisel repeated with a smile and a nod. She wasn't entirely sure if it was pronounced 'Lee' or 'Lay' but she was assuming 'Lei' because it was spelled differently than Jet Li. Was that even a reasonable assumption?
Marisel tried to remember anyone she'd known in school who was Chinese, at least, she thought this woman was Chinese... Was that even right? She decided to google the name later when she got back to her cabin and not worry about it until then.
