Oh shit Marisel stared rather blankly at the woman after watching her hands. She squinted for a moment, doubting her initial realization. Was she signing? She had flashbacks to her high school sign language class (which her mother required her to take since taking Spanish would've been "cheating.") Nope she thought with a sigh. Marisel had not a damned clue what the girl had said.
It took a minute for her to realize she'd been standing there staring for a moment. Her face got red and she smiled broadly, hoping it would make up for what a creep she was being. Standing there silent and dressed as a vampire... Glad this conversation is going well, Marisel managed not to roll her eyes at her own idiocy. She brought her hands up to the "box" her sign teacher had always mentioned and spelled out her name after pointing at herself. M.A.R.I.S.E.L. she tried to smile again and make it better. "Sorry," she said again nervously. "I can't sign worth a damn," she confessed. Now you're talking to a deaf woman, Marisel... brilliant she sighed again, annoyed with herself.
