As Nayan spoke Brodie went from smiling to frowning due to the forceful change of plans. "Aw, I'm sorry." He did wonder what his wife did to be called back to 'the field', but didn't ask. There was a fine line between amiably getting to know someone and prying, and Brodie didn't really feel like testing those limits.
Regarding whether or not the trip had been amazing, Brodie could only shrug. Amazing wouldn't be the word he'd use, either. It was, so far, okay.
