“Passenger,” he said, similarly sitting back on his seat, watching Brodie’s grin for signs of conceit about his apparent rock stardom. There was, however, only amiable curiosity. “My wife entered my name on a lark, said I could use the vacation and as it turned out I won. She was supposed to come with me, actually but she got called back to the field just a day before we were set to disembark and told me to go on myself. She’s planning to meet me at port instead.”
