Though usually not one to fidget -- even in his nervousness, he tended to be sparing with his movement and expression, only using gestures when words failed him -- Flint tapped the fingertips of one hand lightly on the surface of the bar. Some rhythm was rattling around his skull, something that would be later expressed at the piano.
As they waited for their drinks, Flint nodded and mustered up another smile for Lily. "Yes. Currently? Living in Maryland. Just outside Baltimore. And you?" A few days ago, he would have been surprised he'd strung so many words together at once. Something in him was relaxing, though; this cruise was actually doing him some good.
However... an uneasy glance at the number of people around them was enough to convince Flint that he still had a long way to go. The bar area was crowded. Perhaps they could take their drinks back over to the piano.
