"Yes." she said with a nod. "Those are helpful too. It reads what is on the screen to me so that I can still function as normally as possible." Helena wasn't so used to people actually wanting to know what she did to get by day to day, but having someone interested was a nice change in pace. She continued down the hallway in the direction of the stairs and gave a little smile. "Are there flashing lights in here or anything?" she asked. "I know Daddy mentioned them on the way in, that there were emergency lights. Are they red?" She remembered red. It had been beautiful. Something she'd taken for granted as a sighted child. She missed it.
