Who: Keyuri and Flint
When: during the blackout
Where: far end of H Deck, at the pool
The way he saw it: if the 90's party was on the E Deck, Flint wasn't going near E Deck. As much as he was going to try to... er, socialize... he had absolutely no desire to go to a party. Even if there was going to be music and he'd probably like most of it. Well, some of it. The 90's had their ups and downs. No, maybe if there was another party -- and he was on a cruise ship, there were bound to be parties -- he would bite the bullet and attend. Possibly. He'd consider it.
Flint ventured out of his room once already and that had been a fairly big accomplishment, though he'd studiously avoided crowded areas. Even with only a hundred passengers (and a sufficient staff and crew) on such a massive ship, he'd still run into a couple of people in his explorations and believed he handled the few minutes of small talk with some measure of success.
As he'd promised his colleagues he would not 'hide' in his stateroom and read, though, Flint figured it was time to take a walk around the ship. Scooping up one of the books he'd thought to pack and tucking it under his arm, he took a thankfully empty elevator to a button he pushed at random. Not long after 8PM, he limped onto H deck and began to wander. The hallway with passenger rooms led to a few bars and a stage; he kept walking. He edged around the outside of a large pool and hurried through the Grand Buffet area. There didn't seem to be many -- or any -- people past that and he slowed his pace.
There seemed to be a separate area ahead and he didn't hear any noise coming from there. Perhaps that would be a good place to sit and read for a little while? Flint ducked into the enclosure and found another pool, with cabanas scattered around it. Perfect place to hide. He was walking toward one when he took a closer look at the pool and his step faltered.
There was a young woman swimming alone. Turning on his heel and walking out seemed rude. Although he wasn't sure if she'd even spotted him, Flint pasted a friendly smile on his face but put his eyes straight ahead as he continued to walk, looking for the nearest exit.
Which is what he was doing when the lights flickered. He didn't have time to course-correct when complete darkness hit for a few seconds; before the red emergency lights went on, there was a splash as Flint accidentally... walked straight into the pool.
