Alexei made a mild face, but didn't refute the claim. They both knew he didn't love so there was no need to deny anything. Love was a weakness. Love left you open to being corrupted. So he didn't respond, instead, he set about grabbing everything he needed to cook.
"Another album?" He picked up the glass they were sharing and took another swig. Glass clinked against the countertop as he set it down so he could start cooking. "Guess you are popular," he drawled out. He moved with ease in the kitchen, prepping things in advance and not really measuring anything. He had a good eye for how much of something he was using. He was in the process of adding salt to the water when Chaz asked that awful question. He lost his grip on the container of salt and winced as it slammed into the pot of water. Water went splashing across the stove top and he sighed loudly. Alexei hated making a mess when cooking.
"Don't be an idiot," he growled as he fished out the container of salt. Well, that was fucking ruined. He dumped all of the water into the sink and started all over again. "I live for the days when you aren't annoying me. I was just curious when I would have a break from you."
