Hannah had warned Megan that Ernie might be coming over, and likewise, Zacharias wrote her telling her that if he did, he’d come too. Their talk was long overdue, and he missed her and honestly? She missed him as well and agreed that their talk was overdue. They needed to talk about what happened, about what he did and the fact that it’d bothered her so much.
Zacharias was his own person, he had to face his own consequences for his choices and Megan had always made that clear. She wasn’t going to blindly follow his lead and blindly support him. When he was wrong, she called him on it. When he deserved her support, she was there. It was the way a good and healthy relationship worked. He deserved better than a ‘yes-woman’ at his side telling him he was right when he wasn’t, and she loved him too much to do that.
Megan checked in on Hannah briefly before going to sit in the living room of their small flat. It was not as big as Ernie and Zach’s but neither of them was quite making the sort of money Ernie and Zach were as professional Quidditch players. That and Megan’s money, aside from her half of the rent, was all thrown into the greenhouses that she and Neville were trying to bring to life. Land was expensive, enough land for green houses, supplies and the sort was crippling. So, she was praying to anyone that would hear her for this to work and be successful.
Honestly, she was grateful that after everything with Zach, Neville was still willing to help her. It was obvious he needed the distraction from everything else going on. But also, so did she. Their world and their lives were all going to shite around them and there was very little in the way of what was coming. Between fear for their own lives and fear for failing in their attempts, all she had was the greenhouse and her mates. Her mates were so fractured anymore too that well…all she had was her greenhouse.
Hearing the door, Megan looked up to see Ernie enter the flat. He’d come after all. Part of her was grateful and part of her was worried that he’d upset Hannah more. “She’s in her room.” She said offhandedly as he walked off toward that direction. However, her gaze didn’t follow him. Instead, her gaze went to the person that had come with Ernie. Seeing him now made her miss him all the more. It was easier when she was away from him and not thinking about him but seeing him now made her hurt all over again. “Do you want a drink or anything?” She forced out, her voice wavering slightly as she spoke.
