A disbelieving “Hm,” answered his words but she chose not to argue the point. She’d seen Bones while he was training and honestly, it seemed to come naturally to him. She could see the father figure there even if he didn’t recognize it in himself or that he was doing it. It was in the way he spoke with those around him. She hurt for him and for what he lost because Bones was obviously meant for the roll of being a father. Whether he would agree or not, she didn’t know or care. She saw it in him and she knew had all his children survived, they would have been the sickeningly happy sort of family.
At the same time, however, he’d been given back the ability almost tenfold with all the boys running around and in need of guidance in their lives. Especially Potter, Weasley and Longbottom after what they’d all been forced to endure. Yes, Longbottom and Potter had chosen to leave but seemingly not forever as Potter seemed keen to return to train with Rook or Bones when available. It was an unfortunate situation for all the children involved but at least in her eyes, they had the best option out there to look to. There were certainly worse options to turn to during these times.
“How fortunate for you that I can open my family manor to some of them now that their parents are settling in there.” Mary stepped forward to sit across from him, her form leaning back against the chair as she offered him a smile. “Just think, if some of those here leave, you’ll be able to walk twenty feet without someone standing there. What will you do with more privacy in your life? Do you even know?"
