Jo had already decided that she wouldn't be backing away from Meg. There was too much that needed to be answered for by her. However, the taunt that Sam had kept Meg's presence hidden from her caused a jolt to go through her.
"Sam wouldn't do that," Jo said, hating the thread of uncertainty that she could hear in her voice. "He would never hide the presence of the person who freaking killed me." She tightened her grip on her knife eying the demon to see where the best spot would be to aim her next attack.
Meg was lying. Jo knew that she had to be lying. The last time that Sam had tried protecting a demon, shit had gone all to hell. She didn't think that he would do that again. She didn't think that he would have knowingly kept her from being prepared to find out that Meg was here.
