Castiel should have expected it, the knowledge that Meg would pull away the moment they were in his apartment, but he hadn't braced himself for that. Instead, he'd hoped they would have made their way to the couch, to talk about this, although he had no idea how to. This was a situation that was new for him and while he knew the same went for Meg, he thought that she'd have a way of explaining things to him. To make him understand. Otherwise, he was faced with that frustration and confusion of the situation and had no idea how to sort through it.
Instead, he watched as she quickly made her way to the bathroom and he sat on the couch, waiting. He was glad his house keeping skills kept up over the course of the week, with only a few scattered pieces of trash along the place. While his heart had been broken by Meg's leaving him after they made love, it didn't result in a multitude of beer bottles and boxes of pizza littering his apartment. He did not fit the bill of a lovelorn man in that regard, although he had attacked a woman, on accident because of his pursuit of Meg.
He'd listened as the mirror broke, causing him to turn his attention to the door, a panic briefly running through him on if someone managed to get into his apartment while he'd been out. But, Meg could protect herself. And he thought they would have noticed if someone were in the apartment. He frowned, not understanding why he heard that sound and even called out to her, to find out if she were alright. She didn't answer, but he heard the sound of water running after, leading him to believe she was at least, physically speaking, fine.
"The mirror is not of import, Meg. It isn't a necessity." He told her seriously, because he didn't view it as something that meant a great deal to him. He may need it, in the future, when he was required to shave, but it was not an issue at this moment. He stalled for a moment, not knowing how to broach the subject of what they needed to talk about. Mostly, because it was difficult for them both to talk about their emotions, despite how they felt so deeply for one another.
"Do you want to take back what you said in the hallway?"
