Her lips curved upwards in a smile as she felt his hands in her hair. The contact was oddly soothing in a way she hadn't expected. No one had ever played with her hair before. It felt strangely intimate and comforting. She closed her eyes, listening to the upbeat music that filled the room. As was the case with most of the older films in her collection, she'd memorized it long ago. She honestly hoped he'd like this one. It was so damn happy. She frequently thought of her love of films like it, like It's a Wonderful life and Gigi and Funny Girl as her dirty little secrets. Other demons certainly wouldn't understand, but she didn't expect Castiel to judge her for it. If he thought it was odd that a creature of darkness might have a soft spot for such utter happiness, well...she just hoped he would find it endearing.
"This one isn't bittersweet," she answered his question. She tried to think of a way to explain it to him so he might understand why she liked it so much. "It's a spectacle," she said at last, opening her eyes and glancing up at him. "It's all bright colors and songs and a happy ending wrapped up in a bow. Don't get many of those in the real world." She rested her head back in his lap, closing her eyes once more, hoping, though not indicating that she did so, that he would continue to stroke her hair. She felt almost like she might start purring like a cat under his touch. The places where her arms made contact with his legs and stomach felt oddly warm. Though layers of clothing and, on his lap, blankets separated them, she felt very aware of his body, and did her level best to repress those thoughts and focus instead on what his hands were doing.
