Being stuck on Oakdell wasn’t that bad. It could be worse for all of them. Although, not having too much to do did kind of make a girl bored and itching to do something. The last time Natasha saw Clint or any of the other Avengers it was weeks ago when they had all gotten together at Steve’s place. But after that night it seemed like they all went their own way and did whatever they wanted or needed to do. So, when she saw Clint’s comment about them going to a bar, she happily jumped on it. It was something to do and, of course, that meant seeing Barton.
Now if only the storm would go away.
It came out of nowhere and it was just pouring buckets. It seemed like it would never stop, but there was a small break in the storm and that’s when she decided to finally leave her house and finally make her way to the bar.
At first she was going to enter through the front door, but what fun would that be? She had this image of Barton sitting thee, waiting and watching the door, hoping the next person that walked in would be her. But, that next person wouldn’t be her, instead she made her way inside through the back door. Normally, somebody might say something about that, but this was Oakdell and it seemed like the residents didn’t care what any of them did, which was still a bit odd, but she went with it.
She had been right; he had been sitting there, glancing toward the door, waiting for arrival. She carefully made her way over to him and caught him muttering to himself and playing with a napkin. She quickly grabbed his shoulder and spun him around so that he was facing her, a smirk on her lips. “You have gone soft,” she teased.
