Turning a corner, she nearly ran into him. Looking up, seeing who was standing there, she smiled before she could help herself. It was a smile of relief, of happiness, of surprise...everything she shouldn't have felt upon seeing him. To look at her, her expression seemed almost as though she were seeing the sun finally emerge after weeks and weeks of rain. As the surprise wore off, she made an effort to school her features. Her smile slid sideways into something more befitting, and she let her gaze travel up and down his body, slower than usual. Lucifer help her, she'd missed him.
"Well, look at the angel about town," she quipped. "On your way to a hot date?" She knew her teasing was likely to confuse him, and that was part of the fun. She found it odd that she didn't, for a second, take her own jibe seriously. He was human now, it wouldn't be impossible for him to meet someone more...suitable. But it wasn't in her nature to worry about that sort of thing. If he did happen to find someone else...well...she'd deal with that when it happened. Hell, she might even be relieved. It would certainly solve a lot of her problems. For now, though, she was just glad to see him.
"I wasn't coming to check on you," she added, suddenly a bit defensive for no good reason. "I was just...walking. Where were you going anyway? Are you out of food again?" She bit her lip, a touch worried. Had she not left him enough supplies? She hadn't taken the time to explain things like groceries to him yet.
