"I didn't want to hurt him." Immediately, out the gate, Castiel told her this when she began to question him. The last thing he wanted was for Meg to think she had to worry about him trying to kill her. Not that he could. He was only a human and lacked a demon knife. He couldn't smite her and he could perhaps recite the exorcism spell, but he didn't want to send her away. Out of the three people he knew in this place, knew were present here, she was the only one he wanted to willingly be around. He knew the time would come that he had to see the Winchesters, but it also wouldn't be an easy meet. That was why he put it off for as long as he could, until he had a sense of what he was doing here and how he would make his life.
"Another angel, Naomi, she saved me from Purgatory after Dean got out." And Benny, but she didn't know Benny. So he left him out of the story for now. "She got in my head." The thin line that formed along his lips was proof of how much he didn't like that. He didn't like how she'd made him lie to the boys, made him do things that he didn't feel were right, but did the all the same because she claimed it was for the greater good. "I told her I didn't want to hurt him, that there had to be another way. She thought he was a threat to the angel tablet and she wanted me to return it to Heaven."
There was a beat, as he picked at the left over eggs on the plate, as he thought back on those moments and how disappointed he was in himself for allowing that control Naomi had over him. "Something broke her hold on me, but only after I'd hurt Dean and was moments from killing him."
