Moving to Beacon Hills had started the chaos that was Kira's real life. Despite all the pain she had suffered, well, she wouldn't trade her life for anything else. Okay, no, not true. There were lots of times she just wanted to be a normal teenage girl. She wanted to go to prom, play sports, have friends, and not be some demi-god that was going to outlive all her friends. Her mother had hid so many things from her for so long and it had left her unprepared when the Dread Doctors messed with her powers. Kira wiped the condensation off the mirror as she stared at her glowing eyes in the mirror. Water strands of hair clung to her bare shoulders as she tried to figure how much of herself was left. She was still Kira, awkward and insecure, but now she was a little more aligned with the fox inside of her. She had fought against the power for so long, feared it even, and now she was only half in control. Did the Skinwalkers know she was gone? Would things be the same with the pack after she had left? "Right, you can do this," she tried to encourage herself before finally getting dressed after her fifth shower. She was positive that sand was ingrained into her pores at this point, but she did feel way better after that last shower. Soon enough she was wearing a comic book t-shirt, a pair of plaid shorts, some thigh high socks, and a pair of slightly beat up combat boots. Her hair she yanked back into a messy bun before she found herself staring in the mirror again. Her eyes weren't glowing anymore since she had a bit more of a handle on her emotions. She could do this. Yeah, she could totally do this. The knock at the door had her jumping slightly. Right, okay, that was just Scott. No need to freak out. She made a face at herself in the mirror before rushing to open the door. As soon as the door was yanked open, well, she kind of just stood there staring at him. "Scott," she finally managed to say. "It...really is you. Oh god, that was a stupid thing to say. Of course it is you, but you know it is you and I don't know why I am rambling." |
