According to Finnish legend I'm named after a powerful witch who has the ability to change shape and weave mighty enchantments. I guess you'll have to ask my husband Niall if I take after any of that, when he finally gets his ass on here that is!
I suppose some of that could apply to my work, I'm a dancer and choreographer so I kind of do change shape in some way or another. And if I do my job right I hope that some people might describe is as enchanting, it can certainly feel that way to me and it's different every time. To be able to convey feelings, experiences and in some ways a story through movement is a special thing and it's something I'll never tire of.
Not only that I'm interested in the feedback too, because good or bad I can not only learn from it on a technical level, but it tells me something deeper, it tells me how I made people feel. It tells me about the journey they went on through watching it and that in turn inspires me for future work, it helps me push boundaries and grow.
It's my dream to one day have my own dance center, that not only helps dancers who want to further their career but brings dance to the masses. To everyone, no matter who they are. It really is a beautiful thing that should be available to all.
Hi, I'm Louhi, (pronounced low-he) slightly obsessed with dance but I also love to meet new people. I'm energetic and I find it very difficult to sit down. I'm also fascinated by movement, about how it can sometimes say more than words themselves. So this might be a strange and difficult question but how do you move? And what do you think it says about you? Are you someone who people might think moves as gracefully as a swan when actually you are putting so much more effort in that people give you credit for? Or are you perhaps similar to a cheetah in that you race through life when you see something you want?
Or are you someone who is now wondering if I'm crazy?...
