Kjell didn't quite understand why Ash was laughing but he didn't question it. He didn't react to the Toreador's hand covering his or their sudden proximity as he sat up either. If these things helped him to ground himself and retake control of his emotions and focus on the task at hand...that was good.
He gave a small nod to acknowledge that blood could wait and stood, gradually turning his hand beneath Ash's so he could take hold of it in preparation for pulling him up onto his feet. The man far smaller than he was and he was far stronger than his emaciated figure suggested; it wouldn't be a difficult feat. "Then, we will get to it." There was a pause, a beat of hesitation that didn't show on his stoic expression or in his even voice but which came through just the same, before he added, "For what it is worth...I think those that attended your event will remember it. The saboteurs failed in that respect."
