Two weeks in Chicago had done Sebastian some good. He'd gone for the Prince of New York to send some messages to the ruler of the court there, poke about and see what rumors were floating around. Unfortunately, in doing so he'd missed a great deal back home. SchrekNET was attacked. Shocking. Of course it was. But who was he to argue with Lucian on the benefits and risks of the system? And the Kindred did seem to be embracing it with open arms. With it, he was able to keep up with some interesting gossip. A Gangrel was now a Hound (insert pun here), and the Sheriff is showing him the ropes, both on and off the job if the rumors were true. Gangrel or not, they needed good investigators to find Henry Stokes and Elly Martin's sire. One of the best pieces of gossip came from Chicago itself and onto New York in the form of Leo Thayer and the mysterious new Malk. Their sudden appearances in the city could be nothing. But it so rarely was nothing among Kindred.
Dorian Valatieri's pet Malk was in New York now, and Sebastian wanted to meet him and see what all the fuss was about. Rumor had it that his Discipline packed a punch for such a youngling. And why had Valatieri let him go in the first place? From what Sebastian understood, he had quite a fondness for the young man, yet he didn't stop him from moving to another Domain? Hmm, intriguing. The best place to find more questions and answers were, coincidentally, in his favorite place. The Blue Velvet. It was a sinner’s delight, his sire had seen to that, but it was also prime information-hunting ground. Besides, he always loved excuses to drop in on Anastasia.
However, before he could find her, someone found him first. Openly staring at Sebastian. As a Toreador, he was accustomed to people staring at him in fascination, but rarely did he feel the need to return the look. He did now. Whether it was the boldness of his gaze or the brightness of his blue eyes, his curiosity was piqued. Sebastian slid in the spot next to him and smiled as if they were old friends. He got the bartender’s attention and ordered, “A double of whatever he’s having, and top his glass. A welcome to our humble Domain. Because…” He tilted his head and looked him over, “I’m certain I’ve never seen you here before.” He offered his hand to shake, “Sebastian Castille.”
