Ariel couldn't help but laugh at the dramatics. It broke a small bit of the tension he was holding on to. "Hey, you know, boy's gotta ask," he held up his hands in surrender, hopping up to sit on the edge of the desk out of the way. He had assumed that Amadeus could but ordering him around wasn't something Ariel was keen on doing outside of the bedroom. Right now, he was the boss.
He looked up as the ward lit up and arched an eyebrow. Interesting effect. The safe wasn't a surprise though. The real surprise would be what was inside. The ledger looked ancient - probably not really old enough to be ancient but it was certainly a relic. He frowned slightly as Amadeus looked over it. Then it all clicked together. "Of course..." He glanced away, in the direction of Alex's lifeless body rooms away.
Clearing his throat, he held out his hands, "Give it here. I'll make sure it gets where it needs to go." Alex didn't need it anymore and Ariel could think of a few historical societies out there that would keep and preserve the ledger with the respect it deserved.
