Watching Ariel, in that moment Amadeus realized he'd never be able to remain completely impartial. There was no way that he could remain completely detached and focused on the matter at hand when he could see how Ariel was struggling at the moment. He didn't even bother to try and resist the pull that had him crossing the room and reaching up to rest his hand on the Hound's cheek. "I hardly brought you along to keep an eye on you. I brought you along because I didn't know what I'd be stepping into here and I needed someone with me. Would you have preferred I sent you to deal with the Malkavian and had brought Kjell with me instead?"
There was too much blood covering everything to learn anything else from the room and there was nothing more that the corpse of Alex Caine could tell them. They knew who did it but that was it. Until they figured out why and how it did them little good.
"There's nothing else either of us can do here other than stand and toss around theories and wonder about the decorating choices that have been made around here." And Amadeus wasn't just taking about the new blood splatters either.
