"If you do not ask questions then you will never learn. We can't always seek the answers for ourselves, especially in this existence," Amadeus pointed out. He could see why Rhys would be hesitant to ask questions if that was the response he had always gotten in life. If you kept getting told you were only bothering others and never getting answers, sooner or later you did stop asking. Amadeus wasn't always the most patient sort but even he wouldn't discourage a mind seeking knowledge from asking what they wanted to know. "And all fledglings are dependent at first. If they weren't then you wouldn't need me around would you?"
There were some clans in which you just couldn't leave a fledgling on their own to figure things out without a sire or mentor. The Tremere clan was certainly one of those. Rhys could try and figure out what he could from Henry's books on his own, but that was a good way to end up dead or have the clan decide one was too much of a risk to allow them to continue existing.
"Then we won't waste any more time. Let us get started." Amadeus had already been prepared to start the younger Tremere's lessons. If Rhys proved smart enough, he might even figure out how to do the simple blood warming spell before they finished tonight. "Though Rhys, one thing—please just call me Amadeus and not mister, okay?"
